About FAIIR, LLC
FAIIR, LLC is a private, independent Colorado standards company. It publishes and administers the FAIIR standard — the Foundation of AI Integrity & Regulation — which organizes how a business deploys and uses AI into five pillars and 41 pass/fail controls.
FAIIR was built for small and midsize organizations that already use AI but will never have a compliance department: professional firms, Main Street businesses, and the AI vendors that serve them. The standard is benchmarked to the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and aligned to the duties in Colorado’s ADMT Act and Chatbot Safety Act, so the same documented controls answer the questions regulators, insurers, and enterprise customers all ask in different forms.

What FAIIR is — and isn’t
- FAIIR certifies an organization’s practices around deploying and using AI — not AI models or products.
- Certification is annual, firm-specific, and based on evidence the organization submits. It is documented proof of reasonable care, not a guarantee of compliance.
- FAIIR is not a law and not a government approval. Colorado law does not require or recognize any third-party AI certification.
- FAIIR, LLC is not a law firm and does not give legal advice.
Founder
FAIIR was founded by Zachariah Crabill, JD, a Colorado-licensed attorney who writes FAIIR’s guidance on AI governance and Colorado AI law.
Relationship to Available Law
Available Law, LLC is a separate Colorado-licensed law firm under common ownership with FAIIR, LLC. Legal questions — what a statute requires of your business, contracts, notices — belong to a lawyer; questions about the FAIIR standard and certification belong to FAIIR, LLC.
